About the Tokmanni Group

The Tokmanni Group is a retail chain with more than 150 stores in Finland. The Group's store network covers the entire country, from south to north and east to west. The Group also includes an online store. In 2014, Group sales amounted to EUR 734 million and Tokmanni currently employs approximately 3 000 employees.
The Group’s mission is to offer an extensive range of quality products at affordable prices. Thanks to professional and skilled personnel, a well-organized purchasing organization and an efficient logistics system, the Group's network of stores is able to offer customers a wide range of both Finnish and international brand products.

Self import policy

In order to be successful, The Group is focusing on building long term partnerships with our suppliers world wide. The Group's inhouse skilled purchasing and forwarding organisation has strong experience in doing business all over the world, with focus in Europe and Asia.
Favorable contracts and experienced partners in transportation and logistics ensure accurate deliveries to The Group's logistics center, located in Mäntsälä which is some 30 minutes north of Helsinki.
The Group's aim is to improve the efficiency of our supply chain and logistics through increasing direct imports. In addition, The Group cooperate with external trading partners who have good expertise and create added value to it's efficient chain of supply.

Responsible purchasing

In its supplier choices Tokmanni strives to take into consideration the ethical nature of the supplier’s entire operation. In 2009 Tokmanni joined a FTA initiation known as the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), which supports and promotes accountability in importing and monitoring of suppliers. The BSCI is a European monitoring system for ethical procurement aimed at improving working conditions in the global supply chain and clarifying and standardizing the supervision of suppliers.
